An Abundance of Katherine focuses on the life of Collin Singelton, who has dated 19 girls named Katherine, and has gotten dumped by every single one of them. Collin is what you call a “kid prodigy”, and that being said, he doesn’t have many friends. After graduating High School, Collin’s only best friend, Hassan Harbish, convinces him to go on a road trip to get his mind off getting dumped by Katherine( the nineteenth). Whine on the road trip, they come across Gunshot, Tennessee, where they meet Lindsay Lee Wells. Very soon, Collin and Hassan find themselves employed by Lindsay’s mother, Hollis, interviewing the people of Gunshot.
While in Gunshot, Collin works on his Theorem. His Theorem predicts if a relationship is going to work out or not, and who will end up dumping who. This Theorem is tested by Collin on every Katherine he has ever dated, which is 19 and counting. Collin soon discovers that there is more to life then trying to prove his Theorem, and that he may be falling for Lindsay Lee Wells.
